A Spanish   tech blog   has discovered a way to recover or see messages deleted by the other person in a WhatsApp chat. According to it, if an incoming message had generated a notification on the phone, it can be recovered from the notification log of the Android handset. Xiaomi Joins Samsung as India's Top Smartphone : IDC

    Now , Xiaomi joins Samsung as a top smartphone brand as per IDC (International Data Corporation) . Both the brands have 23.5 percent of market share. RED's Hydrogen One smartphone holographic display revealed

         Professional camera maker   RED   made a surprise announcement earlier this year that it would be developing a smartphone carrying an undisclosed   holographic display   called the   Hydrogen One . Physical  prototypes  were shared through YouTuber Marques Brownlee, but unfortunately no view of the smartphone's display and no further details were available at the time. Now the technology behind the cutting edge display type has been discovered. A RED partnership with startup  Leia  Inc. will bring the displays to market. Leia was created in 2014 from HP's research labs and calls itself "the leading provider of lightfield holographic display solutions for mobile". Google Drive to be shut down soon

             Google's own cloud storage platforms --  Google Drive  and Google Photos -- are on their way out. In  a blog post  today, Google announced that from December 11t both popular file sync applications will lose official support. Shortly thereafter (in March), Google will be removing the applications entirely.          This move comes as a result of Google's desire to combine all of their existing cloud storage solutions into one cohesive app - something they've wanted to do since July. Credit reporting firm Equifax hacked, 143 million consumers impacted

    Credit reporting firm   Equifax   on Thursday announced a data breach  impacting around 143 million US consumers.           The unauthorized activity, which occurred from mid-May through July 2017, was discovered on July 29. Equifax says hackers exploited a website application vulnerability to gain access to users’ names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers.           Credit card numbers of approximately 209,000 consumers were also compromised, as were certain dispute documents with personally identifying information belonging to roughly 182,000 users. Equifax also found unauthorized access to limited personal information for certain Canadian and UK residents.           One positive takeaway is the fact that the company has found no evidence of unauthorized activity on its core consumer or commercial credit reporting...

        Amazon  Inc and Microsoft corp have forged a partnership that will allow their voice-controlled virtual assistants to talk to each other later this year. Users of Amazon's Alexa will be able to ask Microsoft's Cortana to do a range of activities — from booking a meeting to reading work email.
